The 48th edition of the Super Bowl drew in more Tweets than last year’s, which was outscored by nearly 1 Million Tweets.

The Super Bowl 47 between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, had seen 24.1 Million Tweets, while #SB48 missed the 25 Million mark by approximately, a hundred thousand tweets.

The Super Bowl 48 or XLVIII, was held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2, 2014. The game  featured the American Football Conference (AFC) champions, Denver Broncos against the National Football Conference (NFC) champions, Seattle Seahawks.

Only the tweets which were posted during the game were counted, i.e from kick-off to full time. Considering that the game lasted for 3 hours and 50 minutes, the total number of tweets posted during the same seems incredible.

The Seahawks dominated the first half and were 22-0 at half time, but the Broncos fought back in the second half, yet were unable to beat their opponent’s defense. The full time score read 43-8, with the Seattle Seahawks winning their first ever Super Bowl Trophy. The official Twitter accounts of both teams live tweeted about the game, and so did the accounts of the NFL and Fox Sports: NFL.

Surprisingly the MVP of Super Bowl 48, Seattle’s Linebacker Malcolm Smith was not one of the most mentioned players on Twitter.

Five time MVP quarterback, Peyton Manning,  and team mates Eric Decker and Wes Welker, were the most talked about players for the Broncos. While the Super Bowl Champions, Seahawk’s fans talked about their players Percy Harvin, controversial cornerback Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson.

Of course, the game was not the only thing that users were tweeting about. No prizes for guessing what else the Super Bowl is famous for. The ads, of course. And we loved the super cute, Budweiser Commercial "Puppy Love".

Let us see if the Soccer World Cup Finals, which are due to be held at Brazil in June, can beat this score.

Electronic Arts have announced that the World Cup edition of FIFA will be coming exclusively to the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles this April.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil features a lot of improvements in terms of controls and gameplay, when compared to FIFA 14. The game introduces Explosive Movement, which allows your player to accelerate, decelerate and change direction. Other major improvements include the World Class Control which uses Response Dribbling, Pinpoint Passing. Hundred new animations have been added including passing, saves, and penalty kicks.

The game will feature 203 national teams, 7,469 players and 21 new stadiums including all the 12 authentic stadiums from this year’s World Cup in Brazil. Graphical improvements to the stadiums include new crowd scenes, banners, flags, and seat cards in the stadium, and also fan reactions from Live City events in all corners of the globe. If you score a goal with England, you can see fans react live from London. The game also has over 15 hours of commentary.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be launched in North America on April 15th, and come to Europe on April 17th.

You can pre-order the game from Electronic Arts’ website soon, although no price has been mentioned there. Pre-ordered copies will receive exclusive game content including new celebrations, historic adidas game balls, an All Star Team,  and more

Barcelona’s Daniel Alves, was the target of Racial Abuse last Sunday, during a league match away at Villareal’s El Madrigal Stadium.

Fans in some European Countries such as Spain still indulge in Racial Abuse, often by chanting, hooting like a monkey and other offensive ways.

But what happened on Sunday was astounding. The Brazilian Defender was preparing to take a corner kick, when someone from the crowd threw a banana near him. Instead of getting angry, Alves calmly picked up the banana and took a bite of it, before throwing the rest away.

This was a brilliant way to get back at the fan who abused him, and also in a way, his way of saying “This isn’t something new. I don’t care.”

Alves made a statement which said,

'I don't know who threw the banana but I want to thank him. It gave me the energy to put two more crosses in for our goals.'

He also openly criticized Spanish people for their backward behaviour. The fan was arrested by the Spanish Police. Villareal FC have issued a lifetime ban for the suspect, and also expressed their apologies, in a statement issued at their website, while  also condemning the incident. Alves also commented saying that the suspect should be shamed publicly, by putting his photo on the internet.

Alves’ Barcelona teammate, and compatriot, Neymar started something in support of his friend, that went viral on the internet. Neymar posted a picture of himself on Instagram, eating a banana, accompanied by a hashtag which said “We are all monkeys”.

What followed was incredible. Several footballers started doing the same on Twitter, Facebook to support Alves. Here is a list of the most popular ones who posed with bananas to support Alves.
